Veterinary Consent/ Referral

whitehouse works solely through veterinary consent or referral which means that in order for your dog to be treated you do need to obtain consent from your vet or orthopaedic specialist. This is to confirm your dog's precise condition and that your dog is medically fit to receive treatment.

Your dog can still receive treatment even if your vet has not suggested it. Simply speak with your vet and ask them if they would be willing to refer your dog for hydrotherapy. The majority of vets are very supportive and willing to give consent if it is appropriate for your dog's condition.

Please note:

Hydrotherapy sessions usually last half an hour with a maximum swim time of 20 minutes. The length of a session will however vary according to your dog's condition, needs and ability. On a first appointment it is likely that your dog will only spend a short time in the water. The price of treatment does not alter according to the length of treatment.


We offer daytime, evening and weekend appointments.

Complete the Veterinary Consent/Referral Form, ensuring that you get your vet to complete and sign the relevant section, as we cannot accept your registration without it.

Ask your vet to post or fax the completed form to us.
4 We will contact you to arrange an initial consultation on receipt of the Veterinary Consent/Referral Form.

Payment is required on the day of treatment and can be made by cash or cheque. Please note that we do not accept credit or debit cards.

Pet Insurance
Many of the pet insurance companies cover the cost of hydrotherapy treatment. As a member of the Canine Hydrotherapy Association (CHA) and the National Association of Registered Canine Hydrotherapists (NARCH), treatments carried out at whitehouse should be covered by those companies. However, please check directly with your insurance company.
